New development

The Code for Issuer-Funded Analysis is now in effect

EU · financial services and independent valuation · entry into force

Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1092, which establishes a European code of conduct for investment research funded in whole or in part by issuers, has been in force since 7 September. Investment firms must obtain sufficient information on compliance with the code before disseminating material under this designation; if insufficient evidence is provided, the designation cannot be used. The code covers independence, conflicts of interest, contractual terms, disclosures and a minimum five-year record retention period. An opinion from an independent third party, including an external auditor, is admissible, but the responsibility remains with the firm. The organisations concerned should verify contracts, records, audit evidence and distribution rules.

Upcoming deadlines

T–7: opinions on future power supply and USB-C standards

EU · ecodesign, power supplies and testing · consultation, T–7

The feedback on the European Commission's draft request to CENELEC and ETSI in support of Regulation (EU) 2025/2052 closes on 14 September. The project envisages the revision of EN 50563 and the development of standards for surge immunity, interoperability and standby power consumption for external power supplies, wireless chargers and pads, portable battery chargers and USB Type-C cables. This is a consultation on a draft request and not an adopted harmonised standard. Manufacturers, importers, laboratories and standardisation participants should check the proposed measurements and tests and, if necessary, provide technical comments by the deadline.
