What is ISO 45001?<\/h2>\n

ISO 45001 replaces OHSAS 18001, becoming the ISO standard for occupational health and safety management systems (OHSMS).<\/p>\n

The standard not only replaces OHSAS 18001, it will be able to integrate with other management systems more easily than ever before because it shares the new structure defined in Annex SL \u2013 it links directly to the new versions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.<\/p>\n

    IS ISO 45001 RIGHT FOR ME?<\/h3>\n

    If you are certified to OHSAS 18001, you can migrate to ISO 45001 and maintain the validity of your certificate. There is a normal 3-year migration period, so there is still time to plan your transition to ISO 45001.<\/p>\n

    ISO 45001 is suitable for you if you and your organization need to demonstrate a commitment to managing the safety of workers and stakeholders. If you already have a quality or environmental management system that complies with the new Annex SL structure, ISO 45001 OH&S can be seamlessly integrated.<\/p>\n

          ISO 45001 Terminology and Definitions<\/h3>\n

          The new definitions of the terms "Risk", "Worker", "Workplace" and "Hazard Identification" may change for the following reasons:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          Risk.<\/strong>\u00a0The universal definition of the term \u201erisk\u201c is clarified in ISO 45001, as this meaning is different in some countries. The term \u201eHazard Identification\u201c is encompassed by the terms \u201erisk identification\u201c and \u201erisk control\u201c to ensure that we cover all potential hazards applicable to all industries and sectors.<\/p>\n

          Worker.<\/strong>\u00a0There are differences in the definition of this term and different legal restrictions around this term in different countries \u2013 in the context of ISO 45001, \u201eWorker\u201c is defined as the person who works under the control of the organization and includes subcontractors.<\/p>\n

          The workplace.<\/strong> There are questions among organizations about what the workplace is, is this the site of your organization?<\/p>\n
