Euro 7: new durability multiplier comes into effect in a week

Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1216, amending the Euro 7 framework for the durability of emissions from heavy-duty vehicles of categories M3, N2 and N3, enters into force on 2 September. The act establishes a multiplier of 1.2 for gaseous pollutants when testing over the additional service period, which is 25% longer than the basic one. The change affects manufacturers, approval authorities, technical services and testing laboratories that prepare methodologies and proofs of conformity. Test plans, calculations and technical files should be checked by the time of entry into force. The date of 2 September is the entry into force of the delegated act and not the general start of all Euro 7 obligations.
