T–14: Euro 7 emission durability multiplier comes into effect

Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1216 enters into force on 2 September, introducing a multiplier of 1.2 for gaseous pollutants when testing the additional durability of heavy-duty vehicles of categories M3, N2 and N3. This is a reminder of the T-14 threshold and not a new legal act. The multiplier is used when adjusting the emission limits for vehicles, engines and replacement pollution control devices during the additional service life. Manufacturers, technical services, testing laboratories, type-approval authorities and suppliers should confirm that from the date of entry into force, test plans, calculation tools, technical files and contractual terms of reference use the correct value and the applicable category.

ISO/IEC 17067 is in the final approval phase

ISO/IEC 17067 has reached Final Draft International Standard and is in phase 50.20 — final approval. The upcoming second edition is intended to replace ISO/IEC 17067:2013 and remains the primary reference for understanding, developing, managing and maintaining product, process and service certification schemes. This is an initial Strategic Watch alert, not a published standard; ISO has not yet announced a final publication date. Scheme owners, certification and accreditation bodies, regulators and users of certification should follow the completion of approval and prepare a review of documentation, scheme management, selection of conformity assessment activities, supervision and contractual requirements as soon as the final text is available.
